Marriott Property Narrative Websites

Websites

We work inside Marriott’s digital ecosystem every day, supporting brand teams with everything from full-scale migrations to ongoing content development and site optimization — including individual property Narrative websites. That includes hands-on experience within the Phoenix platform, coordination with Marriott Digital Services and close collaboration with brand, marketing and product teams to ensure sites are not only functional, but compelling.

For The Ritz-Carlton, we led the migration of the brand’s website onto Phoenix, partnering directly with internal teams to ensure the right components, modules and storytelling capabilities were in place. Since then, we’ve continued to support ongoing enhancements — building pages, refining content and evolving the experience to better reflect the brand’s position in luxury travel.

For Marriott’s Luxury Group, we operate as an extension of the internal team, developing and deploying landing pages tied to campaigns, recommending new components and features and continuously optimizing site content. This includes copywriting, image curation and structuring pages to align with both user intent and brand voice.

We’re not just advising — we’re building, updating and improving sites in real time, ensuring each brand’s digital presence reflects the quality of the experience it represents.

Our team includes experienced travel and luxury editors, among them the group behind The Ritz-Carlton Magazine for over a decade. Recent work spans the Marriott Luxury Group and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. The result is print with presence: well-paced, purposeful and crafted to be kept.

Branding & Strategy

Casual Astronaut has partnered with Marriott teams to develop a range of brand voice and editorial frameworks designed to ensure consistency across digital, print and campaign communications. These guidelines help translate brand positioning into clear, actionable direction for writers, designers and property marketing teams.

Our work includes developing Brand Guidelines, Content Strategy Playbooks and Hotel Website Guidebooks for The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, St. Regis and JW Marriott — as well as Tone of Voice Guidelines for Marriott’s Luxury Group and W Hotels. Each framework defines the language, messaging priorities and storytelling principles that shape how brands communicate with their audiences while allowing individual properties to maintain their unique identity.

Two modern web pages display articles about luxury retreats, featuring images of serene locations, resorts, and tropical escapes, with titles like “Desert Oases” and “Tropical Escapes,” set against a dark green marble background.

Content & Email Programs

Our work focuses on shaping how Marriott brands show up across editorial and email — connecting inspiration, information and conversion in a way that feels considered and cohesive.

For The Ritz-Carlton, we’ve spent more than a decade building and evolving a connected content ecosystem spanning web, editorial, email and social. Through editorial pages, we’ve helped shift discovery from geography to inspiration — using storytelling to highlight destinations, experiences and the emotional side of travel.

Casual Astronaut serves as the content strategy and creation lead across Marriott’s Luxury Group — developing editorial lineups, campaign content and email programs that support the full luxury customer journey and align with high-net-worth audiences.

Since 2016, we have partnered with Residences by Marriott International to produce quarterly email newsletters across 12 brands — from EDITION and St. Regis to W Hotels and Westin. Each campaign is carefully shaped around the distinct personality of its brand, keeping a global community of 12,000 residence owners inspired, informed and connected.

For The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, we developed and continue to evolve both The Compass content hub and the booked-guest email program — shaping the editorial system, designing the structure and writing the content. This includes building a personalized, conversion-focused email journey that guides guests from booking through voyage, alongside a content platform that inspires exploration and deepens engagement with the brand.

Contact Our Team

Our work with Marriott teams is typically structured in one of two ways:

  1. Retainer engagements provide ongoing support across website content, campaigns and editorial initiatives, operating at a blended rate of $195 per hour across all roles. This model allows us to deploy the right expertise as needs evolve while maintaining continuity across projects.
  2. Fixed-bid projects are scoped and priced at the outset for defined initiatives such as narrative hotel websites, campaign landing pages or publications. This approach ensures clear alignment on scope, timeline and budget, with estimates tailored to the specific requirements of each project.
